I HAVE got a sensible and helpful suggestion to raise extra revenue for Bournemouth council and, at the same time, make the town a cleaner place to enjoy.
Appoint litter wardens to observe the litter louts, who mostly drop cigarette ends outside doors of large office blocks, and main bus stops, and – in the summer months – the beach.
This would be a great source of income.
We might even get a reduction in council tax!
The possible fines of £75 should be imposed.
I wonder if the council could tell us how many people have actually been fined for dropping litter in our town?
