Surely I’m not alone in avoiding the bridge at Iford Lane due to numerous incidents?
As a local who uses the road frequently and has witnessed numerous heated exchanges from passing drivers, I have now had enough and will do all I can to avoid this section of road.
Recently I have had two unpleasant experiences, one driving in each direction.
Firstly, having right of way and already having entered the single lane section of the bridge, a driver heading towards me did not stop to give way.
Secondly, having cautiously given way to at least 10 cars, travelling from the Iford roundabout, I proceeded into the one way section. There was a large van travelling slowly towards me a good distance from the speed humps. The van speeded up and flew over the speed humps to come to a halt inches from my bonnet.
Having spoken to friends, this is but the tip of the iceberg. Many of them have similar or worse stories to tell. I would dearly love to see traffic lights, as operates outside Stourfield Juniors, to put an end to such incidents, before something quite serious occurs.
