AN article was featured in your paper recently concerning the opening of a new park near to Kinson School.

This encouraged me to go and view the area and I was certainly impressed by the thought put into the design and the general layout. Top marks to Bournemouth Borough Council on this fine achievement.

However, what has happened to the mutilation of the old play area near to Elmrise School (opposite the dentists in Poole Lane)?

Has this task been completed to its present state or is it still work in hand?

Have the lack of funds by Bournemouth council meant we are stuck with this eyesore indefinitely?

So far the area is in part resembling an archaeological site with mounds of earth spread around.

What can be viewed at present seems to be a mish mash of ideas and a loss of direction.

The half-baked play equipment already in place no way resembles the original layout, from what was a perfectly adequate play park area.

A climbing frame has so far been erected in an area which has been fenced off and visible is a dogs waste bin put inside the area. Presumably children play within the area but surely not the same area for dogs to exercise?

Some other play activities are in evidence but are not fenced off.

Curiously there are a number of logs scattered across a grassed area.

Well done for the play area layout near Kinson School but thumbs down (for now) for whatever has happened to the area near to Elmrise.
