On Saturday July 10 The Royal Naval Association, Christchurch Branch, held a collection in Christchurch High Street.
The RNA members wish to thank the mayor, Cllr Nick Geary, for allowing the Mayor’s Parlour to be used as our base for the day, and thank also The Chilly Wizard for their kind gifts of delicious ice cream – so welcome on a warm day.
Thank you, too, to everyone who donated so generously.
Nearly £400 was collected by naval veterans sporting their medals, and RNA supporters.
The money will be used as and when needed for the welfare of Royal Naval veterans, serving personnel and naval cadets.
Christchurch Branch meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in The Royal British Legion, Bargates.
Any former or serving shipmates living in, or visiting the area, are welcome.
