I am sure that Poole Borough Council has a legal obligation to ensure that access to polling stations by disabled people, using either a scooter or a wheelchair, is of a high standard.
They failed to do this with the temporary building placed at the bottom of Edgarton Road, West Canford Heath on Thursday May 6.
I drove my scooter 100 yards from my home to the polling station. A ramp, 15ft long, had been placed up to the door with a large hump at the bottom.
It took two people to push me up onto the ramp.
When I got to the top of the ramp, I found there was a 2in drop onto the floor of the polling station!
After voting I then attempted to get out.
It took two men to lift me back on to the ramp.
I am hoping that next year, when I go to vote, the council will have rectified the faults I have mentioned.
