I do not have a clue where Heidi Matthews (Have Your Say, April 29) gets her information from, but it is absolute nonsense.
I am the director of the Seahorse Trust and I can categorically say we have never released one, let alone 150 pairs of seahorses into Studland Bay and have no intention of doing so.
She is also completely wrong with regard to seahorses committing suicide – how on earth can they do that anyway?
They certainly do not die when they lose their mate, they just go off and find another one.
Similarly, she is wrong about where seahorses live.
They are found on a variety of habitats from seagrass to sand and it is very possible for them to live in the areas where the illegal clammers are fishing.
