I write to say thank you to all the people in our borough who gave me and my charity committee help in supporting my chosen charities for my mayoral year 2008-2009.
We found raising money during the recession quite hard.
We were able to give £4,329 to the following charities: Lewis Manning Hospice, Poole East Girl Guides, the Scouts projects at Buddens, Poole Young Carers and the Parkstone Sports and Arts Club.
Smaller cheques have been sent to Poole and Bournemouth Alzheimer’s Society and the Tall Ships Jubilee Trust at Southampton.
My year as mayor was very busy but very enjoyable and of course to be mayor of our splendid town is a great honour.
