THE writer of the letter ‘Let us enjoy wildlife’, Have Your Say July 22 had better realise that these ‘cute’ squirrels are classed as vermin, like rats, and are carriers of all sorts of diseases.
Talking of dog owners being responsible, I certainly would not let any of my grandchildren even go near them.
I do agree about the dog mess and thoroughly agree that something should be done, but as far as the squirrels are concerned Prince Charles has the right idea – extermination of all grey squirrels, then the dogs would not have anything to chase!
