I’D LIKE to thank the kind lady who bought us chocolate whilst we were protesting in the pouring rain at Poole Stadium last Tuesday.

May I take the opportunity to remind your readers why we are protesting against the stadium. The dog racing industry kills 15,000 dogs every year (including puppies who don’t ‘make the grade’).

These are mainly ex-racers who are not in the lucky minority re-homed as pets.

Recent undercover filming has also exposed some local kennels as ill-treating their dogs.

We want to see this so- called ‘sport’ come to an end in this country, having already been banned in nine US states.

More and more people are becoming aware of the fact that the dog racing industry is nothing more than money-hungry exploitation of animals and we urge readers not to bet on the races or visit the tracks.

Thank you to everyone that continues to support our campaign.
