I was surprised and disappointed to read the letter from Derek Smith regarding East Cemetery (Have Your Say, June 10).
Being the cabinet member responsible for the cemeteries in the borough I know my staff take tremendous care to produce immaculate results.
Far from being neglected, the cemetery is a place of peace and beauty for families to visit and grieve for their loved ones.
I have been to the cemetery and find no sign of the complaints Derek Smith has made and I would be very happy to meet him on site to discuss his concerns.
