In response to the letter concerning the Bourne Free Pride Festival Parade, we would like to clarify that we have not experienced Yellow Buses as being homophobic.

While the plans for the Bourne Free Parade had been disrupted by the delay in the response from Yellow Buses, the confusion appears to have been between Yellow Buses and Bournemouth Borough Council.

We are pleased to let the community know that the misunderstandings have been cleared up and the Bourne Free Parade will be proceeding from Meyrick Park, past the Town Hall, up through the Triangle and then on to Gervis Place as requested. It will then go past the Square and through the heart of our comm-unity, beginning at 1pm on Saturday July 11.

We hope everyone – gay, straight or otherwise – will join us for a full weekend of fun and celebration at the Bourne Free Festival, July 10-12. More information at bournefree.co.uk.

We would like to express our appreciation to all those in Bournemouth who have, since 2004, worked with us to produce six fantastic Bourne Free Festivals.
