Having read the news stories of the many sales of the ‘surf pods’ generated in just a few days, it might seem that despite the no overnight stays rule, shared toilet and shower facilities and no nearby parking, there are still buyers willing to pay £90,000 for a beach hut.
Thank goodness for that – at least some cash should roll in to pay for the over runs on the building estimates.
One question I would like answered is that, as Bournemouth has an excellent university and arts institute, why don’t the local councillors make use of these facilities?
I shudder to think of the design costs for Wayne Hemingway and the agent’s fee from Savills.
After all it was only a paint job and a few kitchen cupboards, and the beach hut lovers could have bought via a university-run website.
