AS A visiting Grimsby supporter I would like to thank the people of Bournemouth for their hospitality and friendliness towards the overwhelming majority of Grimsby supporters.

You will always get a mindless minority from all sides but that should not devalue the excellent approach from two sets of worried supporters giving their respective teams 100 per cent backing.

I have followed Grimsby all over the country and without doubt the stewards at Dean Court were the most polite and helpful in the league and interacted brilliantly with the visiting supporters.

The club should be really proud of their approach.

Finally, on leaving the ground, the local supporters lined the route away from the ground applauding and waving to the visitors, a much appreciated gesture, and never seen anywhere else.

The league will be better with Bournemouth in it and the other clubs should take a leaf out of their book as they have created a real family club that is a credit to the area, the town and the league.
