I WONDER how many readers have seen the attractive new Dolphin Mews development by Signpost Housing in Seabourne Road, comprising 25 flats for general needs rent and parking?
Besides providing much-needed social housing it produced a capital receipt and tidied up an eyesore while maintaining public parking.
Perhaps this puts a true perspective on the best use of under-used council assets such as surface car parks, dispelling the jaundiced view that such schemes are a disaster.
With the need to produce more such housing, which is supposedly a council priority, perhaps the current administration might reconsider its stance on similar schemes, which although it would be yet another U-turn, would be for the benefit of the town.
