HAVING read your story regarding the dog attack in Bournemouth (Echo, July 22), I am outraged that the on-lead policy for dogs in this area is not applied by the council.
I am the owner of Nina’s Nannies for Pets, which provides live-in pet sitters throughout the south of the country and currently have numerous dog sitters working in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
Our pet sitters have a strict on-lead policy and dogs are never allowed off lead in public places.
This strict policy has been implemented to insure that sitters have complete control over the dogs in their charge and also prevents dog napping which is rife throughout the country.
If all councils employed this policy, there would be far fewer dog attacks and thefts and dog owners would not be left heartbroken.
