I HAD the most wonderful day out at the recent Wimborne Folk Festival.
The dancing and ‘sword fighting’ were magical to watch. I was enthralled by the procession. So many real characters. There were clean toilets to use in all the pubs and cafes near the Minster.
What struck me was how friendly, happy and polite everyone was. There was no hint of any trouble, even though a few lads were walking around drinking from cans.
The only thing to complain about were the amount of stalls in the main square. I now walk with a stick and at times it was difficult to manoeuvre but again people of all ages took my arm and helped me about. People are so kind.
The Minster looked beautiful as did the green. I sat basking in the sunshine and felt truly proud to be living in Dorset. Proud to be British. There is nowhere like this country.
