I SEE that regular contributor Robert Readman has leapt to the defence of Mrs May over the election debacle, blaming the pesky ‘Remoaners’ for the hung parliament.

My view, although right wingers like Mr Readman usually think that no-one else is entitled to a view, is that the situation is entirely of her making.

She had a perfectly good working majority, but due to advice and possibly that there were signs of the economy heading south, she decided to kick the Labour party while it was down.

Her campaign was a disaster. She thought she could sit back and let the right wing press do their usual mauling of what was thought to be a weak leader and end up with a landslide majority.

However, it seems that the electorate has appeared to have woken up to the fact that the Tories have seriously damaged the health service by drastically cutting social care, have cut benefits to disabled people, cut police numbers and made massive cuts to councils, while reducing taxes to the top earners.

On top of this was the U-turn over home care and the fact that Mr Corbyn made a good fist of the election.

Perhaps Mr Readman should just do what he would tell the ‘Remoaners’ to do - accept the result.
