HOW well I remember Bournemouth bus station. It burnt down in 1976 and has never been replaced.
It was a place you would meet and greet people under the clock.
There was a paper and confectionery kiosk, a photo booth and the wonderful cafe – The Panoramic Grill, where you went for a coffee after seeing a film in Westover Road.
The Royal Blue coach station was underneath and some lovely tourist and jewellery shops and an exclusive boutique and restaurant.
My daughter is a Bournemouth bus driver and laments the constant congestion of buses in Westover Road. It used to be such an elegant road – ladies in fur coats, big Rolls-Royce cars. How times have changed.
Bournemouth council, build a bus station!
