THE decision of NatWest to close a number of branches on the grounds more people are using the internet is spurious.
Maybe the banks are not as busy as they used to be, but whenever one goes into the Boscombe branch there are invariably queues of customers and it is the same story at Westbourne.
Where is the logic of closing Boscombe yet keeping a branch at Southbourne, where it usually impossible to park, whereas at Boscombe car parking in the area is not a problem?
I have written to the bank’s chairman and chief executive pointing out the illogicality of closing Boscombe but keeping Southbourne open, but am not hopeful of receiving a response.
Customers have the choice of moving their accounts to branches of other banks that offer personal service I hope many will despite the fact there may be some hassle involved.
