THERE appears to be a very ugly mode these days where one half of people are so against the other half and all those divisions are so split again and intertwined that many also have another short list of those they are also against.

I don’t know where or when it all began. History does not tell me of such angst between the fine living within the castle and the dishevelled serfs working in the mud outside. It appears that then they were mostly a ‘happy’ lot.

Did it begin when we began to mistrust bankers and more so, career politicians?

Or as I suspect.., did it all really kick-off during the Brexit and Trump votes?

Sadly, this is not just about the wealthy versus the poor, but the ordinary basic worker or pensioner against their ‘seemingly’ better off. Once everybody tried to keep up with the Joneses – now they just want to attack them.

The sad thing is, our government should do their best to keep all us Brits within a high standard of living that our nation proudly boasts: wages, pensions, NHS – the list is long.

Instead, what do they do but divide and conquer the people to blame each other instead of pointing the finger where it truly belongs.
