I WAS intrigued by the “Vision” (apparition?) of the Lansdowne area propounded on the front page of the Echo on Wednesday (March 1).

There are two cars shown....where will the other thousands be travelling?

As a daily user, the Lansdowne roundabout has always struck me as one of the most successful and efficient six-exit junctions anywhere.

Much the same applies to the four-exit roundabout at St Paul’s.

The extra traffic undoubtedly generated there via a plain crossroads could well result in gridlock.

The whole scheme brings to my mind the hare-brained cycle-lane fiasco at the Lansdowne which, like the Reef and Imax was pricey and doomed.
