I AGREE with a letter last week that highlights the shabby image of Poole High Street.
On the positive side, we have a covered shopping centre in the poor weather and lots of good places to eat.
The high street could be much more inviting though.
Some suggestions are common sense (like public toilets), but common sense is not common as we all know. A vibrant market, like they have in Christchurch, would help.
Lastly, some more facilities for young people (like the table tennis initiative) would make the centre more family-friendly. The free WiFi coming next month is a good start. A tourist centre would also help.
I’ve lost count of the number of visitors who ask me the way to Poole Harbour (from the high street.
