YOU only have to read the Echo letters page but more particularly the comments made online via the Echo website to realise how timely Darren Slade’s comments in his View from the Hill (December 31) were.
However, I think it ironic that in the same issue as he was saying that we should give evidence and facts more weight, there was a letter from Cllr Philip Eades against the proposed council merger which not only was devoid of facts to support his argument, but contained misleading information.
I would suggest that some of the worst offenders in ignoring facts because they don’t support their arguments are a certain local MP and councillors.
I suggest Darren should have pointed the finger of blame at them.
