CLLR Beesley’s letter brought to mind Catherine Tate’s character “I’m not bovvered”.

Is he a councillor for us council tax payers or has he gently changed to become a civil servant with far too much pay (and a council pension which we will have to pay for) and a civil servant timetable ?

AFC Bournemouth, plus our beaches and the air show, are the prime assets for Bournemouth, and if Cllr Beesley realised the time scale needed if we are to have a new stadium, he would get his finger out.

The bigger the stadium, the more visiting supporters who may stay overnight (and their partners who may go shopping while the match is on) and more restaurant meals out after the match.

Councillor Beesley’s “ a number of legal, planning & commercial reasons” translates in civil servant jargon to 12/24/36 months, and a lack of interest unless both ratepayers and supporters give him a kick up the backside.

It’s up to us to speak to our councillors and MPs if we want things to be done quickly.

Personally, I think that Eddie Howe would wish a joint venture with Athletics to keep us fit, but sadly Athletics is buried in even more administrators than athletes.

As an OAP who lives near the Cemetery Junction, I think there is more likelihood of ending up there than watching AFC Bournemouth in a new stadium in my remaining years.
