I JUST want to say ‘thank you’ to all at ‘Echo Letters’.
I have been a long reader and subscriber since 1980.
I believe my first letter to you (which was published), concerned the outrage over the film ‘Life of Brian’.
I wrote to celebrate it and it is still a most favourite comedy film today.
During those early days, technology was not as it is now.
I had to write to you handwritten and post it in my local mailbox.
I covered all issues, including Margaret Thatcher and the Falklands War.
My main choice of topic was to incur ‘feedback’, as I feel sure ‘Letters’ also enjoys, even today.
I moved through the years from handwritten letters to faxes and emails and now we have a ‘Letters Echo’ web-page in which you not only put up comments like mine that you also print in your daily paper – but you also allow others so inclined to comment on.
I just want to take this time out to thank you Bournemouth Echo for giving us a service in which many of us really enjoy.
