Letter to the Editor: Rebuild train lines
I ENTIRELY agree with you correspondent Re: housing in Poole.
One point I would like to raise is the infrastructure, i.e. transport.
To my mind the best solution for this would be to rebuild the railway lines from Poole to Bournemouth via Broadstone,Wimbourne, Verwood, Ringwood and Christchurch, using as much of the previous trackbed as possible. Obviously there are parts that would have to be rerouted due to building etc. in the original, but this would then allow a fast 15-minute reliable service for people to use and free up a lot of the gridlock we are currently experiencing.
