WE ARE lucky, in my opinion, to live in a diverse community in Bournemouth.
Alas, in many letters to the Echo I find locals writing regarding our foreign workers, often in a derogatory way.
My own experience is this: I frequent many bars, restaurants, coffee shops etc around our town.
Almost invariably, they are staffed by migrants, including the management.
In the main, I find them to be friendly, happy and proud to be working here.
Almost without exception there are very few British workers in this industry.
Why? Because, in my opinion, there is no perception of the catering industry being a career.
Either it’s a lazy attitude or not wanting to learn.
Let’s stop blaming migrants for all our woes and realise the gain that they bring to our society.
We should celebrate our willingness to accept such people.
