AFTER all the negative press that continually seems to surround the NHS, I felt compelled to write to you with my own, more positive experiences of Poole Hospital. My wife recently went there to give birth to our first child.
There were complications for both baby and mum and we had to spend a prolonged period of time in the central delivery suite and post-natal wards of the maternity hospital. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff on both.
They showed wonderful compassion and kindness throughout this troubling period and offered reassurance and support during a time when my wife and I were both scared and vulnerable.
Despite being chronically under-staffed and having to work in high-pressure situations for ridiculously long hours, the midwives and doctors were simply first class. My wife, my new son and I would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to them.
Too often nowadays we are quick to criticise and forget to give praise where it is due.
To all the staff at Poole Maternity hospital – thank you and continue doing the amazing job that you do.
