VISITING the bird aviary in Bournemouth Gardens a few weeks ago, I noticed two male volunteers caring for them. One held a little yellow bird, which he informed me was a parakeet that was going blind.
Hearing and seeing the loving care they were giving to help her cope was amazing and heart-warming.
I just had to write in and say what wonderful care they are giving to the beautiful birds in the aviary.
A few weeks later, there in among all the other birds, on the ground, a cage with a notice ‘Daffodil’ - the little bird now blind but protected so she can’t hurt herself. Well done volunteers.
