WELL done and how lucky Nigel Sibley is (Echo 4 April 4).
I really enjoyed reading his letter, but at the same time I was frustrated and upset.
Why? Because I am a disabled person with a large electric wheelchair.
I have been wanting to go to Brownsea Island for years and I have contacted so many people during that period.
I have also written to the Director of the National Trust as I am a longstanding member of that organisation, but so far to no avail.
We can land a man on the moon and send men into outer space, but I cannot be transported two miles across the water and land on Brownsea Island.
I do count my blessings and I have been able to go around Poole Harbour on the disabled-friendly Dolphin 3 boat, but I cannot access the island which is why I found Nigel’s letter so interesting.
However, I must ask: why should I be denied the same rights and pleasures as those enjoyed by Nigel?
