WE had a pleasant day in Bournemouth spending quite a lot of money in Beales and M&S. The walk between the two was more like a “horror hike” due to the large number of skateboarders, skating in Commercial Road and the Square, without any regard or thought for the public.
It was a miracle that we OAPs or some child was not seriously injured. Had we suffered a broken ankle, or worse, we would try to sue Bournemouth Council. We spoke to a ‘warden’, who said he was powerless to stop them. Why have wardens? With the coming holiday season, I suggest you quickly pass a bye-law banning the use of skateboards in public places and enforce it with the help of the police.
