IT is a bit rich for Tim Ball of Sandbanks to be telling us what we should do about the proposed wind farm, Navitus Bay.

The Planning authority (PINS) have closed the door; all the comments, views and opinions that have been sent to them are currently being considered and it is very unlikely that they will take any more.

They are unlikely to take notice of letters to newspapers.

They already have many reams of paper to plough their way through in order to make recommendations to the Secretary of State. They have said they hope to have their recommendations finished by the end of June and it is expected that the SoS will make a decision about the beginning of October this year, by which time we will probably have a different SoS.

Tim Ball says that the wind farm will make a similar noise to an A road, but how on earth can he say that when no turbines have yet been built of the size promised for Navitus Bay.

The worst noise will be made by the blades moving past the support columns at about 200 times a minute and they are unlikely to all make noise at precisely the same moment. There is enough detail about wind turbine noise from Australia to cause serious concern for anyone around Poole Bay.

Wind Farm Syndrome is now accepted as a serious health problem.

Tim's comments about noise at Margate are plain silly, because the prevailing wind will blow noise made by small turbines away from that town; whereas the giants in Navitus bay will have the noise blown by the prevailing wind straight into Sandbanks and Bournemouth. But there we are, Tim is too late.
