FURTHER to the letter and photo caption of Wednesday March18 – ‘Alma Road was closed for five weeks in January’ – Alma Road has been closed on and off since early December. We are approaching four months.

The diversion both ways takes in Waterloo/Parker/Trafalgar/Cardigan and Bingham Roads, all heavily parked and narrow.

I am amazed there has not been a road rage incident. And then there are the lorries and HGVs. A German tourist coach was especially entertaining to watch trying to navigate the T junction near me.

Please Mr Whoever, think about large vehicles when mapping out diversions. It must be stressful for them and we live in fear of losing the side of our cars.

Better signage would help as the signs at Winton Banks are woefully inadequate, most having been blown away or knocked sideways.

Still, only three more weeks to go.
