Forgetting a jazz master
REGARDING your Echoes’ Winter Gardens feature on February 25. Having read the list of “stars” appearing over the years, you omitted the night we heard the greatest jazz band of them all, Stan Kenton in 1956.
As a 16-year-old I have never forgotten that one. We were sat behind the band and only a few feet from the man himself. What a night.
