WHAT do Poole residents have to do to have their problems dealt with by the council?
Too often, residents’ alarm at what is happening in their neighbourhood falls between the stool of stifling, pettifogging officialdom, or the stool of councillor irresolution and inter-party rivalry.
Just such a case in point, is the problem of party houses that has been going on now for nearly four years in Parkstone, Penn Hill and Canford Cliffs.
Imagine living in a quiet residential road and finding one of your neighbours decamps every weekend and lets his house, through a commercial party agent, to 16-20 people for a raucous stag or hen party. Would you feel your area was abused and devalued?
Councillors of these areas have tried to help, but most seem to have thrown in the towel in the face of official intransigence.
In an effort to try a new initiative, I have put in a motion to the next council, but no councillor from any of the other parties will break ranks and support it.
