SO, another supermarket has opened in Kinson. There are a couple of bad points, which the owners could have done differently.

Firstly, the cigarette counter is right inside the main door. Make those addicts stagger further for their fix. The exercise would do them good. Also, some stores place their pharmacy department as far inside as they can. Why?

Secondly, the nearest parking spaces to the shop are ‘parent and child’ only.

They are nearer than the disabled ones. In an age where we are all being encouraged to get healthier, what an example for impressionable young minds?

Make the parents park in the furthest spaces. Then their little cherubs might actually have to use their legs, breathe fresh air and learn how to cross a car park. With child obesity on the increase, they need all the help we can offer.

The parents only exacerbate their lethargy by putting their offspring straight into the shopping trolley. Not just toddlers either. I’ve seen children as old as nine or 10 sitting and standing in these trolleys. The same trolleys that you and I put our food into. Have these parents made sure their kids’ shoes are scrupulously clean? I doubt it.

Happy shopping everyone!
