HAVING just read Cllr John Beesley’s letter with regard to the traffic congestion on Castle Lane East, all I can say is he must think Bournemouth residents were all born yesterday.

There has always been traffic problems with the Cooper Dean area for traffic, so why when the hospital was built did someone on the council not have the forward thinking to make an exit straight on to the Wessex Way?

Not wait until now then realise it is going to cost £5 to £10million. It would surely have been much cheaper at the time of development, also if it was known to the council that it was a traffic bottleneck, why build a bus terminal to increase the problem?

It seems to me that Bournemouth council have not got a clue about keeping traffic flowing, and to suggest we walk or cycle is just an easy way out.

To me that is an admission of saying we don’t know what to do so help us out and don’t use your car.

I have come to the conclusion that if Bournemouth council leave the roads alone then traffic will flow much better. Another of their attempted help to motorists is Richmond Hill; what a shambles that is going to turn out, not to mention the cycle lane on Castle Lane West. The list is endless!

The next thing he will be suggesting is that we go back to riding a horse to work.

Come on Bournemouth Council it is 2015, please try to get real.
