FOLLOWING the recent news that the Everest Double Glazing firm has increased not only its profits but has decided to make its managers employed rather than self-employed, why don’t other firms such as Anglian Home Improvements and Apple Home Improvements not follow suit?

As an Anglian Door canvasser for a few years I had as much control over myself as when I was an employed telecanvasser for them.

Parliament and the courts need to tighten upon the law to crack down on all types of false self-employment. Secondly I would like to start a debate on whether individuals should be sitting on more than one council at the same time. Is there not a risk of dual loyalty and conflicts of interest or should the decision be left to voters?
