Our present government intends, quite rightly, to celebrate next year 800 years of Magna Carta.

This epic document sealed the Sovereign’s pledge to hand to the people vital areas of justice.

Amongst the most important was no detention without trial. Is it not a bitter irony in the days we are remembering those who gave their lives to protect these very liberties the Con-Dems – without asking us, the people – give these rights away?

Any single one of us may now be extradited without trial on the say so of some unknown magistrate in a foreign land to languish in a foul jail for months, or even years, perhaps if lucky to be released, ruined and broken when no evidence, or mistaken identity, is found.

What a weapon to remove those you disagree with and a gift to dictators – as our sad history of Europe has proved.

What exactly do the Con-side of the Con-Dems believe in conserving nowadays? Not our armed forces, not our fishermen or farmers and certainly not our system of justice as practised in the USA and our Commonwealth.

Well we have a poll of polls in six months, possibly the last chance to save our country.
