I MUST object to Mr David Butcher’s interpretation of Bournemouth West MP Connor Burns’ comments regarding the refugees housed in hotels in Bournemouth (Daily Echo, October 2).
I believe that Mr Burns rightly suspects that this move could well be the ‘tip of the iceberg’ and would maybe lead to an uncontrollable situation.
As a former councillor for our area, I have seen the bad effects that some ill-advised decisions have had on our town and the time and money it has taken to try and right them.
I have found that our MP listens to his constituents on various matters and, putting politics aside, acts accordingly, which is what we all hope for in our MP.
