ACCORDING to the 1891 census over 88 per cent of all males over the age of 65 were working with those unfortunate enough to live on even longer still working at the age of 90 years with one 92 year old still working down the mines.

So much for the hard done by young retirees at 70 in the future.

And as for the younger layabouts who, though fit to work, boast that they have never done a day’s work in their lives they should bring back the ridicule stocks.
