It was good to see that Bournemouth Council have given Hengistbury Head Noddy train a stay of execution.

Can I suggest the Council use their all singing all dancing train on Castle Lane West instead of wasting £650k on cycles Lane.

I cannot imagine any parent allowing a child to use cycle lanes on such a busy road-however the train could pick up the children and go to the various schools, this would relieve traffic pressure on Castle Lane West.

Any parent who thinks that cycle lanes would be a good idea should view the new cycle lane at top of Richmond Hill on Wimborne Rd.

The cycle lane is in the middle lane and has a break in the middle to allow cars to cross over lanes – it’s an accident waiting to happen.

Or if you want to have a good laugh see the cycle lane nearr Coachman Place on Lansdowne Rd, where if a cycle wants to cross the road, it has to leave the road cycle lane and go on the pavement and in a tight turning circle go round a road sign.

The £650K should be spent on the former Imax site to stop it looking like a supermarket lorry loading area.
