I WAS saddened to read Brian Jenner’s letter (HYS Thurs, Feb 27) advocating the demolition of Bournemouth’s churches in the pursuit of ‘Vibrancy in the student and commercial sectors’.
If he had been born and bred in the town he might have a little more respect for our heritage.
I am as always confused as to why someone moves to a particular area because of what it has to offer and then sets about changing it.
The churches may not be so well attended, but the buildings are places where our parents and grandparents married, where we were baptised and then married, valuable to us Mr Jenner, if not to you.
The Eiffel Tower is old and a bit rusty, should we not demolish it?
