PLEASE can I ask why do local patrons and the tourism officials of Bournemouth, Poole and Swanage feel it is necessary to set off fireworks to provide entertainment?

It’s bad enough having fireworks going off from mid October through to the beginning of January, let alone in the summer. “Fireworks will be lighting up the skies at Poole’s Summer Breeze and Bournemouth’s Family Fiesta comes back with a bang” – BANG being the operative word!

Last week, there were displays on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Even in Winton we heard those in Swanage Bay because they were so loud.

Please consider the animals cowering and trembling with fright, children and the elderly being scared because the bangs sound like a bomb going off, those who want to get some sleep and the remnants of the display polluting the environment when you plan future programmes.

There must be something else the money could be used for rather than watching thousands of pounds going up in smoke! If not please use quieter ones. Thank you in advance.
