WHEN energy is such an issue, fracking, wind farms, nuclear, etc, why don’t we use what is at our doorstep? Tidal power. It’s reliable, guaranteed and constant. We have several points like the obvious ‘entrance’ at Sandbanks (80ft deep), also Rockley bridge (Lytchett Bay) and of course two bridges (Holes Bay). These are a constant flow and with our tides would generate a lot of free energy. Wave power is not realistic but tidal power is. So come on Poole council, grasp the obvious opportunity?
You made a great move with fitting solar panels, now add to your recent achievements to complete the job. Would the government give a grant? It’s also clean with no damage to our fragile atmosphere or the eco-structure etc.
