I’VE seen this happen before – a person walking their two small dogs on leads through the local park happens to pass by another dog walker with their dog unleashed and five times the size of the smaller ones. All of a sudden, bedlam, with both owners shouting and frantically trying to prise the animals apart.

Reading recent comments on reports of dog on dog attacks, I get the impression anyone viewing the scene would point the finger of blame at the owner with the unleashed larger dog. In this case, a definite no. Prior to the incident with the dog, the two on leads had lunged and snapped at children going by on scooters and skateboards.

I can understand that some sort of socialising training has to be given but if your pets are prone to attack other dogs, who will retaliate naturally, perhaps professional tuition is needed and not a walk in the park.
