EXPLORATORY drilling well for gas within California Quarry to South of Swanage, the well will be drilled and steered from onshore to offshore to a depth of over 1.5 miles below the sea, planned to access conventional sandstone reservoir.
The main object is to evaluate the potential for gas to be produced from the Triassic Sherwood sandstone geological formation, the same rock which petroleum is currently produced elsewhere in Dorset.
Is this fracking under the sea? At the same time Navitus Bay Development in the same area. We know fracking causes earthquakes.
What happens if one or two of those big windmills foundation are damaged and they fall down, at the same time the sea may drain into any rock fractures. We already have an oil well in Poole Bay, so there is bound to be gas as well.
