Having read that a visitor to Bournemouth was quite rightly impressed with the A&E Dept at our hospital made me reflect on my own situation at the moment.
It is seven weeks now since I had my prostate removed because of cancer and I have now been told at this moment I am cancer free.
This makes me realise how lucky I am, not only in the result, but to have been treated by a team of nurses, doctors and surgeons whose care and expertise made the whole experience completely pain-free and comfortable.
I am now looking to have an operation in the next week to implant a device which, although I will lose any natural hearing over the preceeding months and years, fingers crossed it may allow me to hear again and enjoy a lot of things that I have sadly missed and certainly will relieve me of something that has been a blight on my life for many years.
Again the treatment prior to my operation has been faultless and leaves me with no reservations regarding the treatment I will receive. I cannot thank the NHS and its staff enough.
