BOTH sides have published “projected views” as to how the wind farm will possibly look on the horizon. Who can say which pictures are correct?

Having listened to and read what Challenge Navitus have put into the public domain, it is clear they have one objective, to stop the development as it will spoil their views and they want it put somewhere else.

I hold a very different view however.

One thing is for sure – if and when this project goes ahead you may possibly glimpse, on a very clear day, some windmills on the distant horizon.

For me that is not a problem as clearly we must develop renewable energy for future generations with wind farms being part of the mix.

I am grateful that the developers have the technology and means to construct this farm 12 miles out to sea and chose not go for a land-based option.

This way we can all still enjoy this beautiful country that we live in and if the sight of a clear horizon means so much to anyone they can always take a trip further along the coast.

There are countless people living in this country who hardly ever see the sea who would be grateful, wind farm or no wind farm, just to enjoy what we locals take for granted.

We must accept that development in all its forms is the only way forward.

We owe it to future generations, and the possible loss of a view out to sea is a very small price to pay for the opportunity to furnish them with a renewable energy supply.
