AS a dog owner myself I make the effort to clean up after Meg when she succumbs to a call of nature and place it in the next available bin.
Over the last few weeks, visiting places such as Upton Country Park, Ham Common and Baiter Park, I found there was an increase in the number of dog owners who were not bothering to clean up – or what I believe is worse, using a poo bag and then throwing it in the bushes or, in the case of Upton house throwing it behind the bird blind, where there is now a large pile. Why would you do that? Is it just laziness?
All I can say to these people is, do you want to keep walking your dog at these lovely places?
Because if it carries on you are only giving ammunition to the anti-dog lobby and you may find restrictions being placed on where you can go with your dog, so lets make an effort and bin it.
